Space Law
Neha S. Dagley BLC’s Space Law and U.S. Trademark Registration Consultant:
Neha brings two decades of legal experience to her consultancy, with a focus on space law and policy, and U.S. trademark registrations. She leverages her background in commercial litigation to help clients navigate the unique legal challenges emerging from space exploration, satellite operations, and the broader space industry. A graduate of the Advanced LL.M. in Air and Space Law from Leiden University, Neha advises companies on the international legal frameworks pertaining to space law and policy.
Launch Services Agreements
With her background in commercial litigation and as fractional corporate counsel, Neha can provide strategic advice on launch services agreements, which are essential for companies participating in space operations. Key components of these contracts include due diligence, risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, dispute resolution, awareness of licensing requirements, and consideration to both national and international laws governing space activities.
Advocacy for Indigenous Voices in Space Law
In collaboration with Betts Law, Neha is committed to being an advocate for the representation of Indigenous voices in the space industry. Indigenous peoples in Australia and around the world have deep cultural connections to outer space, and Neha is dedicated to actively support efforts to include these voices in the development of space policies. By ensuring that Indigenous knowledge systems are respected and integrated into space law and sustainability efforts, Neha strives to contribute to a future where space exploration benefits all.
Space Sustainability Consulting
As space becomes more congested and the risk of space debris increases, Neha can help navigate the latest issues on space sustainability. These issues can often include end-of-life deorbiting plans, satellite debris mitigation strategies, and adherence with various sustainability guidelines. Commercial space operators are more focused than ever on space situational awareness (SSA) practices and the development of sustainable space traffic management plans in order to contribute to the long-term viability of outer space.
United States (USPTO) Trademark Registrations
In addition to her work in space law, Neha advises businesses on securing their intellectual property through U.S. trademark registrations. She assists clients in protecting and managing their brands, particularly in industries like fintech, fashion and beauty, and space technology, where international reach is critical. Neha also provides strategic guidance on brand protection in the U.S., including conducting comprehensive clearance searches for U.S. trademarks to help ensure proper registration and mitigate the risk of infringement.
