Before, During and After a Relationship: Financial Matters
Not everything needs to go to court! We help many clients who are in agreement as to property division whether it is before getting married, after marriage or at separation. For de facto relationships, we can assist you as well.
Financial agreements between the parties are the most cost-efficient way to settle the property of a relationship. If the parties are in agreement, come see us to put that agreement in writing and if needed, we can put that into a Consent Order to make it enforceable by the Family Court.
Children:
Again, you don’t always have to go to court. If, at the end of your relationship, you and the other parent agree on spend time arrangements with the children, come see us to put that agreement in writing. If needed, we can put terms into a Consent Order enforceable by the Court. We all have the best interest of the child as our ultimate goal. We can help navigate what that may mean for your situation.
De Facto Relationships and Considerations before Marriage:
While there are distinctions between the two types of legal relationships, many aspects of property and children are covered in the Family Law Act. .
